We are thrilled to announce that Jenny Thomson has joined our team.
Jenny is a counsellor registered with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She obtained an honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Jenny has worked and volunteered in the mental health field for over six years in various settings prior to her career in counselling. She has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals in the mental health field, including working one-on-one with those suffering from developmental and physical disabilities. This has allowed her to see the mental health field from a range of different viewpoints, and as a result Jenny has a broad understanding of the struggles and challenges that people struggling with their mental health encounter in their day to day lives.
Jenny offers a safe and judgement-free environment for clients to express themselves and work through their problems. Counselling for the community is available, including support for individuals struggling with: transitioning, gender identity, sexual orientation, coming out, prejudice in the community, family issues, and more.
She is passionate about helping people find the strength and wisdom in themselves that they need to improve their lives. Jenny is a firm believer that you are the expert in your own life, and she is here to help you realize your potential and your abilities. Counselling is not a place where you go to get advice, but rather an opportunity to learn about yourself, make improvements in your life, and overcome past and current obstacles.
No referral is necessary to make an appointment. Simply call 519.756.6311 to book your appointment at the Cooper Chiropractic Centre to start counselling and begin improving your quality of life.
